But the Bushmen won the case to stay, and the government eviction was stopped. It’s a whole new topic, but focusing it for this comment.<br/><br/>The country is really split on the decision. Because of the perceived wealth that may be there (BTW no1 has proven diamonds are there, it’s actually a huge gas field that can be used to generate power). Let’s face it Botswana runs on diamonds and trust me there are doing all right there. It’s an awesome place. They use it to uplift their people. The Botswana government sends most of their matric equivalent graduates over sea’s to study further. I'm not going to be naive and think its all good, but if the people themselves work it out, Diamonds can be a powerful tool for upliftment. Diamonds don’t fuel conflict, people fuel conflict. <br/><br/>Personally I don’t value diamonds but EVERY girl I met does. From a technical point of view diamonds used for industry can be manufactured at a fraction of the cost. So we mine for diamond rings. Please don’t bite my head off I’m not being chauvinistic, just my experience.<br/><br/>So I think targeting debeers and diamonds may stop the guns but it wont stop the killing.
