free calendar downloads for September 2009
There’s a tree outside full of these beautiful harbingers.
I’m not sure if they’re cherry blossoms or the trailer for those really sour little plums we used to have at the house in Azaadville.
Any budding (haha) horticulturists want to take an educated bash at it?
I couldn’t decide on one particular picture and so I thought maybe you’d like to.
How hot would these have looked if I had an SLR to shoot with? (Hint Universe, freaking Hint)

@ Rah: He’s learning to share:) but it often gets left at the shop for the product shots. It’s a fairly tall tree (goes up a bit above the neighbour’s wall) and get’s lots of sun in the driveway. I won’t be making jam with the berries any time soon then.
@ Fatima & Waseem: You guys heard Rah, the are potentially toxic, so that makes these things pretty hardcore Waseem, not ghei at all:)

Hard to tell from the angle, but I think they’re Azaleas or from that family. If it grows in a bush/shrub or fairly smallish tree and tends to thrive in shadier spots in the garden then it’s from the azalea/rhododendron branch of that family. Azaleas smell amazing, but their seeds are highly toxic.
It’s fruit or seed/berry yielding then it’s from the Ericaceae branch of the Rhododendrons, more closely related to heather and then the “fruit” is some kinda variety of berry, usually blue-/cran-berry, but depending on your soil type might be inedible cos of highveld climate going between extremes fairly quickly and not allowing the berries to fully ripen. Also, if it’s a self /bee created cross with an azalea, those berries are toxic.
And surely you have at least one SLR? Or is the owner possessive? I’m also possessive over mine
