The board of Channel Islam International has decided to take KhatPit off-air.

A positive outcome is that the podcasts will be made available on the CII website (on this link) and those who’ve been following the series will come to hear how all events unfold towards a resolution that provides valuable lessons for all.

This isn’t a frivolous show that panders to the base. It uses humour and satire to draw-in, engage and ultimately educate.  As with all dramatic narratives; there is plot, character development and a denouement. A means to an end. We have not written without purpose.

Our detractors have judged us unfairly, focusing on those elements that we intended to include for purposes of authenticity and a sense of realism. We just put a mirror up there; it’s too bad some people have to duck from their reflections.

Despite the sheer frustration at what I feel is mobbish tunnel-hearing, I am heartened by the support received from those who’ve listened to the show with an open ear.

Read Saaleha’s (co-writer and essentially brainmother of this project) post here.

There are plans to go independent with this production. Will keep you all updated.
